Slieveardagh Writers - Joan Pollard Carew
Time Out
(by Joan Pollard Carew)
I wandered 'round my heart
Through wounds of blood and pain
Got lost in all the anguish
Re-living life again
I need to be reborn
Childhood years a soft embrace
Of peace love laughter
To make my world a safer place.

If
(by Joan Pollard Carew)
If you were mine
I would write poems for you
I would wear my hair long for you
Dance to your music
Each embrace each kiss would be new
I would make words to caress your heart
On Valentines Day I would send greetings
In words never used before
Our Christmas would shine like tinsel
If you were mine I know I could write poems
