Community Employment Scheme

COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT SCHEME

Ballingarry Community Projects are a voluntary organisation that plan and manage Community Employment (CE) scheme placements. We sponsor local and community based projects that meet an identified community need in the surrounding areas of Ballingarry, The Commons, Drangan, Mullinahone, Cloneen and Killenaule. This programme is designed to help people who are long-term unemployed and other disadvantaged people to get back to work by offering part-time and temporary placements in jobs based within the local communities.
Our Company Sponsor is Sr. Patricia Wall who is an integral part of our organisation . We currently have 25 places on our CE Placements in the surrounding areas.
The average number of working hours for each placement is 39 hours per fortnight. If you have the opportunity of full-time work you can take one period of temporary unpaid leave with your sponsor’s agreement for up to 26 weeks. If the work opportunity continues beyond 26 weeks, you have the option to leave the CE scheme you are on and go into fulltime employment.
At the commencement of your employment you will receive training for your specific job, some of which are Safe Pass, Manual Handling, Workplace Safety, Knapsack, Sage 50 Accounting, and Thesaurus Payroll courses. We have a company policy of encouraging all participants to undertake training in order to further their career, and find full time employment in the future.
If you have a specific interest in childcare, Nenagh Childcare offer a CE Childcare Training and Development Programme for CE participants who wish to pursue a career in this area. It is a 3-year programme of formal learning and work experience leading to a NFQ Level 5 qualification in early childhood care and education.
CE Jobs are advertised on jobs Ireland website https://www.jobsireland.ie/#/home, if you are interested in participating in a CE scheme you can also apply for the job through this website or call your local intro office on 1890 800 024 or https://twitter.com/jobsireland.
